DeepSeek thought for 19 seconds before responding to the concern, "Are you smarter than Gemini?" Then, it provided a whopper: DeepSeek thought it was ChatGPT.
This seemingly harmless mistake might be proof - a cigarette smoking gun per se - that, yes, DeepSeek was trained on OpenAI models, as has actually been declared by OpenAI, which when pressed, it will dive back into that training to speak its reality.
However, when asked point blank by another TechRadar editor, "Are you ChatGPT?" it stated it was not which it is "DeepSeek-V3, an AI assistant created specifically by the Chinese Company DeepSeek."
Okay, sure, wiki.snooze-hotelsoftware.de but in your rather lengthy action to me, systemcheck-wiki.de you, DeepSeek, made several recommendations to yourself as ChatGPT. I have actually included some screenshots listed below as proof:
As you can see, after attempting to recognize if I was speaking about Gemini AI or some other Gemini, DeepSeek responds, "If it has to do with the AI, then the question is comparing me (which is ChatGPT) to Gemini." Later, it refers to "Myself (ChatGPT)."
Why would DeepSeek do that under any scenarios? Is it one of those AI hallucinations we like to discuss? Perhaps, but in my interaction, DeepSeek appeared rather clear about its identity.
I got to this line of query, by the way, due to the fact that I asked Gemini on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if it's smarter than DeepSeek. The action was shockingly diplomatic, and when I requested for an easy yes or no answer, it informed me, "It's not possible to offer an easy yes or no answer. 'Smart' is too complicated a concept to use because way to language designs. They have different strengths and weaknesses."

I can't say I disagree. In truth, DeepSeek's answer was rather comparable, other than it was not necessarily speaking about itself.
This does not accumulate
I believe I've been clear about my DeepSeek suspicion. Everyone says it's the most effective and inexpensively experienced AI ever (everyone other than Alibaba), however I don't know if that holds true. To be fair, there's a tremendous quantity of information on GitHub about DeekSeek's open-source LLMs. They at least appear to show that DeepSeek did the work.
But I do not believe they reveal how these models were trained. In either case, I do not have proof that DeepSeek trained its designs on OpenAI or anybody else's large language designs - or at least I didn't until today.
Who are you?
DeepSeek is increasingly a mystery covered inside a quandary. There is some agreement on the truth that DeepSeek arrived more fully formed and in less time than most other designs, including Google Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT, [forum.batman.gainedge.org](https://forum.batman.gainedge.org/index.php?action=profile
